There are 3 types of biodiversity. I will be explaining you about each one in detail.

  • Genetic- This refers to the variation between various living organisms. For Example - Every human looks different from each other. Similarly, there are different varieties of rice, wheat, maize etc.

  • Species- It refers to all the variety of life found in a certain area. For Example- 4-5 different species of a tree in a forest

  • Ecological- This refers to the collection of living and non-living organisms and their interacting with each other. For example, the variation in plants, animals and humans living together and connected by food chain.

These are the types of biodiversity. All these types of biodiversity have 1 thing in common, each organism in each ecosystem is interconnected and they are dependent on each other for their own living. Even we humans are dependent on animals, plants, trees etc., to get food, water, air, and other resources that are essential for us to live safely on this planet that is being shared by millions of species.
